The Knight Center’s mission of training student and professional journalists to cover the environment extends well beyond the classroom.
Professional journalists can pick up new skills or sharpen old ones through the Knight Center’s Boot Camp workshop series and other training institutes. Knight Center faculty have led or spoken at professional workshops across the world on covering environmental topics like climate change.
Students can put their skills to work producing environmental documentaries for EJTV and writing award-winning, in-depth stories for EJ Magazine and Great Lakes Echo.
The Knight Center also maintains the Meeman Archive, a collection of thousands of outstanding examples of environmental journalism.
